Congratulations to Jennifer Johnston, who was presented with an award by Margaret Dunne at the Dalkey Heritage Centre last night (14th October). Celebrations included a reading from How Many Miles to Babylon? by Gary Jermyn and a performance of Waiting by Geraldine Plunkett (directed by Caroline Fitzgerald) – as well as Jennifer Johnston reading from her latest novel Naming the Stars. Writers in the audience included Marita Conlon McKenna, Éilís Ní Dhuibhne, Martina Devlin, Katie Donovan, Anne Le Marquand Hartigan and Mary Rose Callaghan.
On Thursday 13th October I’ll be reading with and talking to the ultra-fab Catherine Dunne at 7.30 in the Ranelagh Arts Centre as part of the ‘By Invitation’ programme curated by Jack Harte. We’re hoping for a lively Q & A, so consider yourselves invited.
The Irish Writers’ Centre will host a Mindshift day this Saturday (15th October): “An Expert’s Guide to Promoting Your Book”.
